“Egekabu” is an Ekegusii word commonly used by the Abagusii community in Kenya. It loosely means heritage, roots, origin, or traditional identity—something that connects people to their culture and background.

In events like Egekabu Live Recording Vintage Edition, the name represents celebrating culture, music, storytelling, fashion, and talent in an authentic African and Gusii inspired way. It gives a sense of going back to the roots while showcasing creativity in a modern style.
